JSP was well and truly celebrated, and Rev’d Brendan Bassett was warmly welcomed as our new JSP Team Leader, at the gathering on Saturday 11th January at St John’s Church, Great Horton, Bradford.

It was a joy to hear stories from some of the churches who have been enjoying the JSP adventure over the last few years and the difference it has been making.

We noted that Jesus Shaped People is embarking on a brand-new adventure as Brendan takes the helm, bringing fresh insight and vision to continue the development of its work. It will be a time of significant change, and so it was great to have Bishop Paul formally commission Brendan and for those gathered to pray for God’s blessing upon this next chapter.

Brendan writes: ‘It was a privilege and joy to be amongst a gathering of ‘Jesus Shaped People’ and be affirmed as the new UK Team Leader. For me the best place to learn to be ‘Jesus Shaped’ is in the local church, and the best place to present Jesus to a watching world is through the local church. While I feel daunted at the moment I also feel encouraged and supported by God’s people. I’m looking toward to meeting lots of new friends in Christ through this remarkable ministry’

Whilst Gordon Dey is stepping aside as National Leader he will remain as JSP Regional Coordinator for Leeds and the North East. Gordon writes: ‘What a thrill that JSP has reached this point, and we can look forward to its impact spreading across the UK, bringing rich refreshment and reshaping of churches from many different traditions, and in a great diversity of settings, including those that serve some of our neediest communities.’

We are grateful for the prayers and generous support of all those connected in one way or another to JSP. Please do continue to hold this next chapter of development in your prayers. Thank you.
